Shatterproof silicone drinking glasses, made for outside

Why silicone

Most drinkware is glass or a hard plastic like acrylic. We make ours from silicone, a material that behaves like neither: it has the look of real glassware, and it bounces instead of breaking.

What silicone is

Silicone is a rubber-like material with a backbone of silicon and oxygen, a different chemistry from carbon-based plastics like acrylic. That's why it behaves differently: it stays flexible instead of rigid, handles both heat and cold, and doesn't turn brittle with age.

How it compares

Clear Sense silicone Glass Acrylic
When dropped Bounces Shatters Can crack or chip
Over time Keeps its color and finish Stays clear Clouds and scratches
Hot drinks Yes Yes Not recommended
Dishwasher Yes Yes Often hand-wash
Feel Soft, grippy, light Hard, cold, heavy Hard, light
Allowed poolside Yes Usually not Yes

In practice, that means a slip off the pool ledge is a matter of picking a glass up, not sweeping it up.

How it's made

Every glass is made from 100% food-grade, platinum-cured silicone.

The color is mixed into the silicone and set during molding. Nothing is painted, printed, or coated on afterward, so there's no surface finish to fade, peel, or wash off.

What to expect

It feels different from glass. The glass is lighter and has a soft, slightly flexible body. Give it a gentle squeeze and it gives a little, then springs back.

Wash before first use, the way you would with any new silicone kitchenware.

Strong flavors wash out with a little extra care. After coffee, red wine, or anything aromatic, wash promptly. If a scent lingers, soak in warm water with baking soda, then run it through the dishwasher.

Air-dry or use a lint-free towel. Silicone can pick up lint from cotton dish towels.

Made to keep

Every material has a footprint, and silicone takes a lot of energy to make. That's why we think it only belongs in things made to last. Read our approach to sustainability.
